Caligae

Caligae means ‘heavy shoes’ in the ancient language, Latin. . The heavy shoe was very sturdy and durable. It’s sole was thick, made from multiple layers of leathers. The upper was cut from one piece of leather and got pinned with nails. The front of the caligae could be lined with cotton or fabrics for warmth and comfort in the winter days.
